INDIANAPOLIS (March 4, 2020) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, today announces that tickets are now on sale to the public for the 2020 IPL 500 Festival Parade and the 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc. Tickets are also available for the 500 Festival Off the Grid, presented by KeyBank. 500 Festival event tickets can be purchased online at 500festival.com/tickets. Proceeds from all 500 Festival ticketed events help support the organization’s free programming for youth and college students.

 

IPL 500 Festival Parade

One of the 500 Festival’s original events, the IPL 500 Festival Parade is one of the nation’s largest, most respected parades, consistently earning national acclaim alongside the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. On Saturday, May 23, more than 300,000 people will line the streets of downtown Indianapolis to experience the pageantry, fanfare and excitement of the IPL 500 Festival Parade. Every year, millions of people from around the world make the IPL 500 Festival Parade an iconic race weekend tradition. 2020 Parade guests can expect a historic celebration of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing, including larger-than-life floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands from across the country, exciting entertainment, celebrities and every day heroes, and the 33 drivers that will be competing in the 104th Running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. The 2020 IPL 500 Festival Parade theme is Start Your Engines!

 

2020 Parade Enhancements – Reserved Seating 

 

  • Bilingual Sections: Sections 23 through 26 will serve as bilingual sections, delivering the public address and Parade presentation in both English and Spanish.
  • Value Sections: Sections 29 through 34 will serve as Value Sections for families and large groups to utilize the best pricing options along the route. Value Section tickets start at $10.
  • OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon Section: Indy Mini participants (past & present) and their families can purchase tickets in Section 21. This branded section of the Parade route will feature décor, onsite recognition and more. Participants are encouraged to wear their finisher medal or participant shirt for additional recognition.

500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc.

Once a year, racing fans, business leaders, Indiana mayors, and the 33 500 Festival Princesses gather at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for an action-packed, Hoosier tradition – the 500 Festival Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc.

 

The morning’s festivities kick off by honoring Indiana’s mayors. Mayor of Indianapolis, Joe Hogsett, hosts 70+ mayors from all corners of Indiana as we salute these civic leaders for their tireless work in advancing Hoosier communities. As guests enjoy their traditional Hoosier breakfast, they’ll hear from Indianapolis Motor Speedway and 500 Festival executives.

 

Attendees will enjoy a lively Q&A session led by one of racing’s most iconic voices, Bob Jenkins. Bob will be joined by a racing legend who will offer unique insight into this historic time in auto racing as the Racing Capital of the World embarks on a new era. The Breakfast at the Brickyard keynote speaker will be announced later this month. Past speakers include legends such as Mario Andretti, Sam Schmidt, Johnny Rutherford, Janet Guthrie, and Lyn St. James. At the conclusion of the event, the Marlyne Sexton 500 Festival Queen Scholar will be announced.

500 Festival Off the Grid, presented by KeyBank

Off the Grid, is the 500 Festival’s legendary race weekend black tie party, capping off Indy’s month-long celebration of the Greatest Spectacle in Racing. Attended by the who’s who of Indianapolis, the 500 Festival Off the Grid, presented by KeyBank, is a one-night escape where guests can celebrate before the Indy 500. Guests will walk the televised red carpet alongside celebrities and VIPs in town for race weekend. Once inside, Off the Grid guests will enjoy a night of revelry, including nonstop entertainment, spectacular food stations and hand-crafted cocktails.
