Shirt and Medal Revealed for the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon 

Official 2021 participant gear connects iconic racing elements as part of America’s Best Half Marathon of the Decade 

 

INDIANAPOLIS (January 27, 2021) The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500, today revealed the designs of the participant shirt and finisher medal for the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and the 2021 Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K. Featuring iconic images and elements of the Indianapolis 500, the Race Day theme of the shirt and medal connects the Greatest Spectacle in Racing to the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and its iconic lap on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Set for Saturday, May 8, the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon will mark the race’s 45th running. 2021 Participant Shirt 

The front of the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon participant shirt features a Race Day theme. The OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon’s course includes a lap around the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the largest single-day sporting event, the Indianapolis 500. The theme Race Day gives recognition to both The Greatest Spectacle in Running and The Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indy 500. The front of the shirt has a classic, bold feel to highlight the accomplishment of completing the 13.1 miles of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. 

 

The shirt includes a unique element for participants – a hidden tribute that they’ll have to search for! This tribute pays homage to Pat Kennedy, who unfortunately passed away after contracting Covid-19Kennedy was lifelong race fan, past 500 Festival Board Director, a board member of the 500 Festival Foundation, and was part of the 500 Mile Oldtimers OrganizationKennedy’s passion will leave a lasting legacy that will continue to further the spirit and tradition of the 500 Festival and Indianapolis 500. 

 

The 2021 participant shirt is long-sleeved, features a gender-specific cut, and is made of a blended poly fabric to maximize ventilation and comfort. Participants can make sure they have the correct fit by checking our size chart. 

 

2021 Finisher Medal 

Hard work is recognized with the 2021 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon finisher medal! Etched into this year’s finisher medal is the legendary straightaway of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway featuring modern IndyCars. The vibrant, iconic colors of the Indy 500 flags – green, white, yellow, royal blue, red, black, and of course, checkered – are boldly displayed on the medal. Above the racing stampede of IndyCars is the race’s officiatitle name, the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, in white enamel. The race’s official distance of 13.1 miles and year are featured in green enamel with red and yellow detail.  

 

Finishing a half marathon is a massive accomplishment and the 2021 Indy Mini finisher medal will make a big statement. The finisher medal hangs on a commemorative checkered flag ribbon, a hallmark of the race.
