Phillip Phillips Announced as AES 500 Festival Parade Opening Production

INDIANAPOLIS (March 22, 2024) – The 500 Festival announces the performance of Phillip Phillips for the opening production of the 2024 AES 500 Festival Parade. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online at 500festival.com/tickets beginning at $25. Proceeds from all 500 Festival ticketed events help support the organization’s free programming and events for Indiana youth and college students.

This year’s opening production will be led by American musician and singer-songwriter, Phillip Phillips. Phillips is a former American Idol winner with the most successful coronation hit of any American Idol winner, with his 2011 song, “Home”. Performing on stage to his music will be the Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders and the Indiana Pacemates.

This opening production is a great example of this year’s theme, Iconic Moments in Indy, where we can see popular singer/songwriters and performers come together to create an unforgettable experience.

“Forty5 and the 500 Festival are partnering together to bring Phillip Phillips to Indianapolis for the opening performance of the 500 Parade,” said The Vogue. “The evening of the parade, The Vogue will host a Phillip Phillips concert presented by Forty5 and the 500 Festival. Forty5 is thankful to be partnering with an amazing organization for a special event in the city of Indianapolis on race weekend!”

The Parade will take place on Saturday, May 25, in downtown Indianapolis with festivities beginning at 11:45 a.m. This classic race-weekend tradition features spectacular floats, larger-than-life balloons, marching bands from across the country, celebrities, everyday heroes, and the 33 drivers that will be competing in the Indy 500.

The Parade will be televised live locally on WTHR, Channel 13, and streamed nationally on Peacock. The broadcast will also re-air on May 25, at 8:00 p.m.
