Jake Bertelsen and Anna Rohrer win the 48th OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon

INDIANAPOLIS (May 4, 2024) – Thousands of participants from 15 different countries, 5 continents, and 50 states crossed the finish line today at the 2024 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K.  

Jake Bertelsen from Powell, Ohio, won the men’s race with a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 29 seconds. Anna Rohrer of Carmel, Indiana, won the women’s race with a time of 1 hour, 15 minutes, and 18 seconds. Rohrer is a two-time OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon winner.  

In the Athletes with Disabilities division, Jenn Fesemyer of Champaign, Illinois took home first place with a time of 53 minutes and 11 seconds. Dean Furness from Bowling Green, Kentucky took home second place with a time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 45 seconds.

Caleb Webb of Bloomington, Indiana, won the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K men’s race with a time of 15 minutes and 27 seconds. Maggie Whitham of Raleigh, North Carolina won the women’s 5K in 18 minutes and 9 seconds.

2024 marked the 48th running of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and 25th running of the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K. The Circle City Sound Barbershop Chorus performed “Back Home Again in Indiana” before the start of the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K. Staff Sergeant Jenna Burke, vocalist with the Indiana National Guard, performed the national anthem before the start of the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. The Mini-Marathon starts and finishes in downtown Indianapolis and includes a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indianapolis 500. As participants reach the famed Yard of Bricks, many will stop to kneel and kiss the bricks, an Indianapolis 500 winner’s tradition. The flat and fast course is uniquely enhanced with 15-course aid stations, over 45 entertainment acts, and thousands of community volunteers, all cheering participants to the finish line. 

The 2024 Mini-Marathon is supported by OneAmerica Financial, Delta Dental, Franciscan Health, and Meijer. The Mini-Marathon was broadcast to the Indianapolis market on WTHR, Channel 13.
