The 500 Festival announced today that Fifth Harmony, presented by 99.5 WZPL, will headline the 2014 Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day on May 10, 2014.

Fifth Harmony is a musical group formed of five girls between the ages of 16-20. They came into the national spotlight when they finished 3rd on The X-Factor entertaining crowds by singing pop and R&B hits. The five girls came together after previously auditioning for the show as solo artists. Fifth Harmony signed a joint deal with Syco Music, owned by Simon Cowell, and Epic Records.

In only two years, Fifth Harmony has had many accomplishments. In October of 2013, the group’s debut album, Better Together, debuted #6 on the Billboard 200 and #2 on iTunes album chart. Just this past January, they were voted “Next Pop Superstar of 2013” by Popdust Magazine and are currently nominated for “Breakout Artist of The Year” at the 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards. Fifth Harmony is currently opening for Demi Lovato’s 2014 Neon Lights Tour, playing in 27 arenas across North America.

“This is a great fit for the event and we are very excited to host this talented group of successful young women that will be entertaining for all ages and get everyone on their feet and dancing to the rhythm of May,” said Bob Bryant, President and CEO, 500 Festival. “The 500 Festival is very excited to provide a free family celebration as well as opportunities for kids to be outside and active. We are grateful to the many volunteers, sponsor partners, participants and staff that help to put on this annual tradition.”

“Chase is proud to support the 500 Festival and specifically the Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day and Rookie Run,” said Bob McElwain, Vice Chairman of Chase in Indiana and President, Middle Market Commercial Banking, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC. “The addition of Fifth Harmony is sure to be a crowd pleaser and a great headliner for this traditional community event that includes encouraging kids to participate in the Rookie Run and generally have a fun day downtown.”

Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day is the state’s largest FREE outdoor festival for children. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014. In addition to experiencing a live Fifth Harmony performance, kids and families can interact with local mascots, race mini cars, bounce in giant inflatables, get free kids haircuts by Great Clips and create arts and crafts. Children can also visit with nationally-known characters or make sashes with the 500 Festival Princesses. Dozens of exhibitors will fill Monument Circle in the heart of downtown Indianapolis with food, fun and educational games.

Sponsors for the Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day include Chase, AAA Travel, Indianapolis Colts, Meijer and Pacers Sports & Entertainment.
