Country Music Duo and Fan Favorites The Swon Brothers to Headline Opening Production for the 2019 IPL 500 Festival Parade

INDIANAPOLIS (May 15, 2019) – Chart-topping country music duo the Swon Brothers will serve as the opening act for the 2019 IPL 500 Festival Parade, scheduled for Saturday, May 25. The Swon Brothers will first perform the National Anthem before performing their Top 15 HIT “Later On.” They will be joined by Indianapolis Colts Cheerleaders and the Indiana Pacemates during the opening production. After the opening production, the Swon Brothers will ride the parade route in the 500 Festival themed float, giving all fans the opportunity to see them in person.

The Swon Brothers are an American country music duo from Muskogee, Oklahoma, consisting Zach and Colton Swon. The duo rose to fame as finalists on NBC’s “The Voice,” performing on country superstar Blake Shelton’s team. Afterward, the duo released their major-label debut, “THE SWON BROTHERS,” in October 2014, putting their stamp on the 11-song collection by co-producing with award-winning producer Mark Bright. The album’s first single “Later On” was the duo’s first Top 15 HIT.

Zach and Colton received a CMA Award nomination for “Vocal Duo of the Year.” They received an ACM Award nomination for “Vocal Duo of the Year” followed by a CMT Music Award nomination for “Duo Video of the Year.” The Swon Brothers recently performed with Brad Paisley on his Country Nation World Tour and Carrie Underwood on her Storyteller Tour.

Their latest single “Midnight Lovers,” an anthem to young forbidden love, is currently streaming on Spotify and was also co-written by the duo. One of the original 500 Festival events, the IPL 500 Festival Parade is one of the nation’s largest, most respected parades, consistently earning national acclaim alongside the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. NTT IndyCar Series Team Owner Sam Schmidt will serve as Grand Marshal of the 2019 IPL 500 Festival Parade.  More than 300,000 people will line the streets of downtown Indianapolis to experience the larger-than-life floats, giant helium balloons, celebrities, award-winning bands, and all 33 drivers competing in the 103rd Running of the Indy 500.

The 2019 IPL 500 Festival Parade will be themed “Your Tradition is Waiting in Our Own Brickyard.” In Indianapolis, the month of May means family, friends, and the 500. For more than 60 years, the IPL 500 Festival Parade has led the charge with our iconic community celebration. Each year builds on the foundation of the last, blending together old and new as the world gathers in the Circle City. Before the green flag drops at the starting line at the brickyard, the 33 drivers parade down the bricks of Monument Circle, admired by the youngest and more experienced race fans. The 2019 IPL 500 Festival Parade will take place on Saturday, May 25. Parade festivities will start at 11:45 am ET in downtown Indianapolis.
