INDIANAPOLIS (February 1, 2017) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events for Indiana and celebrating the legacy of the Indianapolis 500, today announces the organization’s partnership with national CPA and advisory firm BKD to create the 500 Festival’s first ever Leadership Development Program.
“BKD is excited to be the presenting sponsor for the leadership program,” said Rob Pruitt, managing partner of BKD’s Indianapolis and Bloomington offices. “Through our BKD Foundation, we largely support youth and education. This sponsorship affords us the opportunity to offer education to Indiana’s future leaders, as well as supplementing the strong work of the 500 Festival in our communities.”
The Leadership Development Program provides various opportunities for participants of the 500 Festival’s college-aged programs to learn more about professionalism in a working environment. The Leadership Development Program’s various sessions throughout the next few months include discussions on personal brand, resume, interview, and job search training.
“The Leadership Development Program has been on our radar for a while now,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of the 500 Festival. “We have two extremely beneficial programs for college-age students and ties with talented industry leaders here in Indianapolis. Connecting the two just makes sense. We hope it will continue our mission of enriching lives by impacting and connecting students for years to come.”
500 Festival Princess Program
Each year, 33 of Indiana’s most civic-minded, academically driven young women are selected to serve as 500 Festival Princesses. Serving as a 500 Festival Princess provides young women with countless opportunities for leadership and professional development. 500 Festival Princesses participate in personal and professional development initiatives that empower them to make a profound impact within their community and Indiana.
500 Festival Internship Program
The 500 Festival Internship Program allows students to gain valuable experience while being part of the month of May in a new and exciting way. Each spring, approximately 10 interns join the 500 Festival in preparation for May.
