Back on My Feet Indianapolis to Partner with the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon

This will be the first year that Back on My Feet Indianapolis will officially partner with the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini Marathon in May 2015

INDIANAPOLIS (January 19, 2015)Back on My Feet, a national non-profit organization that uses running to empower those experiencing homelessness to make a real change in their lives, will be partnering with the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon for the 2015 race. This will be the first year that Back on My Feet Indianapolis will be partnering with the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon.

“We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with Back on my Feet Indianapolis and to be hosting their teams at the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, the nation’s largest half-marathon,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of 500 Festival. “Back on My Feet and the 500 Festival both recognize the profound impact that running can have on an individual and a community. We’re excited to offer program participants with a life-enriching experience, joining forces to foster a positive impact on the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana.”

Back on My Feet Indianapolis will begin training for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon in January 2015. Many of the Resident and Alumni Members have already set their sights on completing their first Mini-Marathon.

“Back on My Feet has taught me to love running and provided me with guidance on setting goals, not just with my running, but with my life goals as well” said Chris, Back on My Feet Resident Member. “I have never had the opportunity to participate in the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and I’m excited to be checking this off my bucket list. And my goal for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is to ‘crush it’!”  

Back on My Feet Indianapolis is expecting to have over 50 Resident, Alumni and Non-Resident Volunteer Members participate in the 2015 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. The 2015 OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, marking the 39th running of the race. Funds generated from the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon enable the 500 Festival to provide life-enriching events and programs – most of which are free and produced largely by volunteers – for people of all ages.
