As we mark 100 days until the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and the Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K, the 500 Festival is excited to unveil the designs of the participant shirt, finisher medal, and hat. The 49th running of the Mini-Marathon and the 26th annual 5K will occur Saturday, May 3, in downtown Indianapolis. Registration is available now at Indymini.com/register

Mini-Marathon Participant Shirt

The 2025 Mini-Marathon shirt showcases a fun and colorful design, reflecting Indianapolis’ strong racing history. On the front, an INDYCAR SERIES car zooms past text reading “13.1 Miles,” symbolizing the distance participants will conquer during the event. The back of the shirt features a tire rolling past the Indianapolis cityscape. The tire is framed by the phrase “The Greatest Spectacle in Running®,” a nod to the slogan often used to describe the Mini-Marathon. The shirt also incorporates key event details, including the official race title, location, and date.

Mini-Marathon Finisher Medal

The Mini-Marathon finisher medal features an INDYCAR SERIES car crossing the legendary Yard of Bricks, symbolizing the iconic stretch of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that participants will run across on May 3. The number “25” on the nose of the car marks the event year, while a cloud of smoke behind the car represents the speed and excitement found in both the Indy 500 and the Mini-Marathon. At the bottom of the medal, the total mileage and city are written, while the official race name is featured at the top. The medal captures the spirit of both events, celebrating the shared connection of speed, action, and the iconic Indianapolis 500.

Mini-Marathon Participant Hat

This year’s participant hat, available to the first 18,000 registrants at the Expo, matches the Indy Mini brand and features bold blue colors with a checkered pattern across the bill. The front of the hat prominently displays the classic 500 Festival logo, paired with the IU Health Mini-Marathon event name. This hat is a stylish and memorable keepsake for participants.

5K Participant Shirt

The 5K shirt features a striking wing-shaped design with “5K” displayed in large block letters. It also includes the distance “3.1 miles” and the year “2025” placed on the opposite side. The back of the shirt draws inspiration from the iconic Indianapolis skyline, with the words “Indianapolis, IN” and “Home of the USATF 5 KM Championships” positioned beneath it, completing the design.

5K Finisher Medal

The 5K medal honors Indianapolis with its unique design. It features the view just outside Military Park, home to the 500 Festival Post Race Party presented by PNC and showcases the city skyline with the bold “5K” medal standing tall behind the city’s skyrises. At the top of the medal, a wing-shaped design surrounds the official race title. The location and date curve along the bottom, with the race mileage of “3.1 miles” incorporated, adding a final touch that ties the design together.
