500 Festival Miler Series Race Dates & New Location Announced

November 29, 2022

The 500 Festival announces today that the 2023 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, will start and finish from a new location -- Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis.

The Miler Series features three running/walking events at three unique distances, three, six, and 10 miles. The series launches on February 11 with the 3-Miler, followed by the 6-Miler on March 4, and concludes with the 10-Miler on April 1. Participants will race through exciting new courses that weave throughout the city and surrounding neighborhoods.

The date and distance of the races coincide with a typical training program for a spring distance race like the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. Participants are encouraged to practice their race day strategy and pacing, running in crowds, stopping at water stations, and more. Each race will be timed, and official results will be available following the event.

Registration for the three-race series is officially open at IndyMini.com/Milers. Participants may register through February 5 and pay just $65 to take part in all three events, known as the Podium Series. Those who register for the Podium Series will earn the title of “Podium Finisher” and receive a technical long sleeve t-shirt and the official Podium Finisher medal. Participants may also register for a race independently, but the only way to receive the gear is to complete the Podium Series. All races are open to the public and do not require individuals to be registered for the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon to participate.

New this year, the Miler Series will start and finish from Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis. This 50,000-square-foot facility will allow participants and spectators the space to enjoy pre-race festivities including packet pickup, gear check, sponsor activations, and more. It’s also a perfect spot to warm up and stretch before the race and to celebrate post-race. Parking is free and onsite.

“We are looking forward to creating a new race experience for Miler Series participants in partnership with Fowling Warehouse,” said Bob Bryant, 500 Festival president and CEO. “The game of Fowling was created at the Indianapolis 500, giving this location and partnership a special tie to the 500 Festival. We hope participants enjoy this fresh event space and new course to officially kick off our 2023 event season.

“OrthoIndy is proud to support the Miler Series as the presenting sponsor and we are excited about the new location and routes for this unique running and walking series that promotes a healthy lifestyle,” said John Ryan, OrthoIndy CEO.

A virtual option is also available. Registration for the Virtual Miler Series is $50 and participants will receive a bib, a technical long sleeve t-shirt, and a finisher medal. Virtual Miler Series participants complete the corresponding distance from the location of their choice. Participants then submit their race time and photos upon completion.
