500 Festival Internship Applications Now Open
INDIANAPOLIS (August 28, 2024) – The 500 Festival is now accepting applications for its internship program, offering college students a unique opportunity to be a part of the planning and execution of over 30 community-focused events and programs that engage more than half a million people annually. These full-time, paid internships provide college credit and will be filled on a rolling basis.
Internship positions are available from January through May in various areas including event operations, marketing, communications, graphic design, customer service and ticketing, and strategic partnerships.
Interns will gain invaluable skills through hands-on experience and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Month of May in Indianapolis. Key events include the Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon & Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K, AES 500 Festival Parade, Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc., and more! Interns will also have the chance to develop leadership skills and engage in unique opportunities, empowering them to make a significant impact on the community.
Additional benefits include forming lasting friendships with fellow interns, networking with board members and staff, discounts for friends and family to 500 Festival events, tickets to the AES 500 Festival Parade, and tickets to the 109th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
“We look forward to welcoming some of the nation’s most motivated and dedicated students to the 500 Festival team,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of the 500 Festival. “Each year, we are impressed by the remarkable talent and enthusiasm our interns contribute and the significant impact they have on our events and within our community. We’re equally excited to provide them with valuable opportunities for personal and professional growth.”
“Over the course of my internship, I saw tremendous personal and professional growth through the diverse responsibilities I was given,” said Ellen Kleyweg, 2024 marketing intern. “My experience would not have been complete without working alongside the amazing staff members who provided positive support and assistance. Having the opportunity to help support iconic events for the people of Indianapolis during and beyond the Month of May is an experience I will never forget.”
