Applications are now open for the 2023 500 Festival Intern Program. Each January, the 500 Festival welcomes a team of dedicated interns to play a critical role in the planning and execution of 50 community-based events and programs, which impact over half a million people each year. Such events include the Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon & Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K, AES 500 Festival Parade, Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc., and more!
A range of internships are available from January-May including event operations, marketing, graphic design, customer service and ticketing, and strategic partnerships.
A unique aspect of the 500 Festival Intern Program is participation in the 500 Festival Leadership Development Program, presented by FORVIS, which empowers interns to make a profound impact in their community. Interns may make meaningful connections by attending leadership sessions and professional development events led by business and community leaders.
“The 500 Festival Intern Program provides young professionals with valuable experience and unique opportunities to be involved in the Month of May and be a part of the 500 Festival’s mission to enrich lives and positively impact our community through some of the world’s largest events and programs,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of the 500 Festival.
“I loved being an intern at the 500 Festival because of the quick pace and the number of responsibilities I had,” said a 2022 500 Festival intern. “I loved the workplace and being able to collaborate with many different departments as well. My favorite part of the entire experience was getting to know my fellow interns and being hands-on in many different projects!”
Additional perks of the program include 500 Festival branded apparel, free parking during business hours, two tickets to the AES 500 Festival Parade, and two tickets to the 107th Running of the Indianapolis 500.
The 500 Festival Intern Program consists of full-time and part-time, paid opportunities. Applications are now open, and positions will be filled on a rolling basis. Both part-time and full-time internships are eligible for college credit and a weekly stipend.
