500 Festival Foundation Announces Additions to its Board of Directors

INDIANAPOLIS (February 7, 2019) The 500 Festival Foundation, a fully-charitable 501(c)3 organization dedicated to ensuring relevance, reach, and sustainability of the 500 Festival’s mission to enrich lives and foster positive community impact and celebrate the Indianapolis 500, today announced that three new civic and business leaders were appointed to the 500 Festival Foundation’s board of directors.

 

Serving as the governing body of the 500 Festival Foundation, the board of directors is currently comprised of 20 community leaders. The board guides the strategic vision of the 500 Festival Foundation and its members act as trustees, representing the organization within the community and are committed to supporting the 500 Festival’s youth initiatives, education programs and scholarships.

New additions to the 500 Festival Foundation’s Board of Directors:

 

Mike Harmless, Local and State Government Consultant

Mike is from Greencastle, Ind. and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from the United States Military Academy. Mike served in the military and was later elected as Mayor of Greencastle for two terms. He then served as the Executive Director of the Indiana Democratic Party for Governor’s Bayh and O’Bannon for two years. Mike retired from Crowe as a government consultant 2015. Mike currently works part time for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the Chair of Midwestern Outreach. He has also served as a volunteer on the 100th Running Host Committee for the Indy 500.

 

Bob Brody, Senior Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Chief Operating Officer, Franciscan Alliance

Bob is Senior Vice President/COO for Ambulatory Services at Franciscan Alliance, where he’s responsible for all freestanding ambulatory services and directing the Franciscan Physician Network, which includes more than 750 physicians and nurse practitioners in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. He previously served as President and CEO of Franciscan St. Francis Health hospitals in Indianapolis, Mooresville and Carmel from 1996 to 2015. He is a graduate of Boston College and received his Master’s degree from Duke University. Bob has been a longtime supporter of the 500 Festival, serving on its Board of Directors from 2012 – 2018 and Treasurer from 2016 – 2017.

 

Justin Christian, CEO and Founder, BCforward

Justin graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. Justin founded BCforward in 1998 and since then has grown BCforward to one of the largest IT consulting companies in the Midwest. Justin leads BCforward’s corporate strategy and executive level relationships with its customers and corporate partners. Justin served on the 500 Festival Board of Directors from 2010 – 2017 and was elected Chairman in 2016.
