INDIANAPOLIS (May 5, 2021) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, today announced two grand-prize winners of the 2021 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank. The two grand-prize winners that have been selected for the 2021 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank, are 12-year-old Abby Mattingly from Indianapolis, Ind. and 10-year-old Heidi Smith, from Lafayette, Ind. Mattingly and Smith were publicly announced as the grand-prize winners at the 2021 Kickoff to May, presented by STAR Bank, event today, May 5, on Monument Circle. As grand-prize winners, Mattingly and Smith each receive a $500 scholarship, courtesy of STAR Bank. Children ages 12 and under were invited to participate in the 2021 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank, to celebrate the Month of May and have an opportunity to win a scholarship made possible by STAR Bank. The coloring sheet design encouraged young Hoosiers to express their favorite thing about the Month of May in Indiana.
