500 Festival Announces Two Grand-Prize Winners of the 2020 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank

Each grand-prize winner to receive a $500 scholarship, courtesy of STAR Bank

INDIANAPOLIS (May 20, 2020) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, today announced two grand-prize winners of the 2020 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank. The two grand-prize winners that have been selected for the 2020 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank, are nine-year-old Bria Carlson, from LaPorte, Ind. and 12-year-old Caitlyn Graves, from Noblesville, Ind. As grand-prize winners, Carlson and Graves each receive a $500 scholarship, courtesy of STAR Bank. Winning entries were selected on the basis of creativity and originality, and entries from a total of two countries and 13 states in the U.S. were entered into the contest. Children ages 12 and under were invited to participate in the 2020 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, presented by STAR Bank, to thank essential workers and have an opportunity to win a scholarship made possible by STAR Bank. There were four coloring sheet designs available to decorate and submit into the contest. Coloring sheet designs each pay tribute to the heroes of today’s trying times. The 500 Festival will be delivering all submitted coloring sheets to Hoosier frontline workers across the state, including healthcare workers, educators, transportation workers, grocery store employees, and others.
