500 Festival Announces First Group of Celebrities and Dignitaries Attending KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball

INDIANAPOLIS (May 22, 2018) – Hollywood stars, musicians, and Hoosier heroes will take to the red carpet at the KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball. Indianapolis Colts Head Coach, Frank Reich, will serve as the host for the event. Grammy-winning hip-hop violinist, Miri Ben-Ari and technology dance group, iLuminate will headline the event’s entertainment. The 2018 KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball will be held Saturday, May 26 at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Red Carpet arrivals will happen from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase here.

The first group of announced celebrities and dignitaries scheduled to walk the red carpet for this year’s KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball includes:

Frank Reich: The new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Frank Reich joins the KeyBank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball as the event’s host. A former member of the Colts coaching staff from 2008 – 2011, Reich returns to Indy after winning a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles in February.

Abby Abel & Mitch Bonar: Abby Abel and Mitch Bonar are best friends and inspirational advocates for Unified Sports, which joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team to compete. Drawing inspiration from their own experiences in high school, Abby and Mitch set out to create a world without the stigma and perception against people with intellectual disabilities. In addition to speaking to students around the U.S. and organizing unified sports tournaments, the duo developed a program to help athletes and friends to stay connected after high school. Their tireless work to ignite social change has taken them to the Special Olympics North American Conference and to the Special Olympics World Games. Following their duties as Grand Marshals of the 62nd IPL 500 Festival Parade, Abby and Mitch will walk the Red Carpet for the Snakepit Ball’s evening festivities.

Doug Jones: Actor Doug Jones captured the attention of critics with his portrayal of Amphibian Man, the creature at the center of the film, The Shape of Water, an Oscar-winner for Best Motion Picture. Jones’ 30+ year career includes more than 150 productions in film and TV, including playing the role of The Fawn in Pan’s Labyrinth, the title character in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Abe Sapien in Hellboy, Billy Butcherson in Hocus Pocus, as well as his current starring role as Saru in the CBS All Access series, Star Trek: Discovery.

12 Strong | Task Force Dagger 595: Cast members from the movie 12 Strong, will be joined by real-life members of Task Force Dagger 595, the first Special Forces Team deployed to Afghanistan after 9/11 and basis of the movie. The brave Green Beret Special Forces members joining this year’s Red Carpet include: Mark Nutsch, Will Summers, and Chris Spence. Cast members attending at the Snakepit Ball include:

  • Geoff Stults: Actor Geoff Stults played the character Sean Coffers in the movie, 12 Strong. He also acted in the long-running TV show, 7th Heaven, as well as The Odd Couple and Grace and Frankie.
  • Kenny Sheard: Sheard played the character Bill Bennett in 12 Strong. He’s worked on numerous other high-profile films and television series including Transformers: Age of Extinction, 13 Hours and John Wick: Chapter 2.

David Anspaugh & Angelo Pizzo: 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the motion picture, Rudy. Emmy and Golden Globe-winner, David Anspaugh directed the movie. Angelo Pizzo is famed for writing and producing Rudy as well Hoosiers.

Paul Sorvino: Paul Sorvino has appeared in more than 50 movies in just the last decade. He’s most well known for his role as mob patriarch Paul Cicero in the 1990 film Goodfellas, and his portrayal of Henry Kissinger in the 1995 film, Nixon. He’s made a living portraying authority figures and has appeared in hundreds of TV, film and theatrical roles since 1970. He’s also the proud father of Academy Award-winning actress, Mira Sorvino, and husband to Dee Dee Sorvino, who he wrote a cookbook with.

Scot Pollard: Scot Pollard is an 11-year NBA veteran who played for the Indiana Pacers from 2003-2006. He retired in 2008 as an NBA champion with the Boston Celtics. Since retiring from NBA, he’s appeared in several films and has worked in broadcasting for numerous outlets. In 2016, he was a contestant on Season 32 of the hit CBS reality TV show Survivor, finishing in 8th place.

Zachary Spicer: Zachary Spicer is an actor, producer, and the CEO of Pigasus Pictures. He recently starred in the movie The Good Catholic. He’s also known for his role in the Netflix Original Series Master of None, and has appeared in television series including, Gotham, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order SVU.

John Armstrong: John Armstrong is an actor, producer, and COO of Pigasus Pictures, an Indiana-based film production company. Armstrong produced the movie The Good Catholic, starring Danny Glover and John McGinley as well as the upcoming feature film, Ms. White Light, starring Tony Award-winning actress Judith Light.

Kristin and Danny Adams: Kristin and Danny Adams are viral video creators whose weekly online videos have amassed more than 500 million views. They became famous after a funny lip-sync video went viral in 2017.

Andrew Peterson: Andrew Peterson is an elite runner who made history as just the second Special Olympics athlete to qualify for the Boston Marathon. As the 500 Festival running ambassador, Peterson travels the state to promote the sport of running, to engage new runners and Special Olympics athletes through the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, and promote inclusivity and youth involvement in the sport.

Mayor Joe Hogsett: Mayor Hogsett is the 49th mayor of Indianapolis. He is a lifelong Hoosier with deep roots in the city. Before serving the City as Mayor, he served as a federal prosecutor and Secretary of State in Indiana.
