Children ages 12 and under invited to participate for a chance to win a $500 scholarship, courtesy of STAR Bank

INDIANAPOLIS (April 1, 2021) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, and STAR Bank today announced the launch of the 2021 Kickoff to May Coloring Contest. Children ages 12 and under are invited to participate in the contest. Entries will be selected on creativity and originality and the two grand prize winners will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500, courtesy of STAR Bank. The coloring sheet and entry form can be downloaded here.  

“The Kickoff to May Coloring contest is a fun and creative way to engage young Hoosiers in celebrating all that is the magical Month of May,” said Scott Bove, Regional President, STAR Bank. “STAR Bank is honored to encourage children throughout the city and state to create unique pieces of art that express what the Month of May means to them.” 

The two grand prize winners will be announced during the 2021 500 Festival Kickoff to May, presented by STAR Bank. The 2021 event will be open only to the media, adhering to health guidelines, and will take place on Wednesday, May 5, from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.  

“We are thrilled to officially kick off the celebrations for the exciting Month of May,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO of the 500 Festival. “The 500 Festival is grateful to STAR Bank for encouraging Hoosier youth in the community and across the state in celebrating beloved Month of May traditions by participating in the 2021 Kickoff to May Coloring Contest.” 

To participate in the 2021 Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, decorate a coloring sheet and complete the entry form. Submissions can be uploaded to the 500 Festival’s website at. Alternatively, entries can be mailed to: Attn: Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, 46 Monument Cir, Indianapolis, IN 46204.
