INDIANAPOLIS (October 24, 2019) – The 500 Festival, a nonprofit organization providing life-enriching events and programs that celebrate the spirit and legacy of the Indianapolis 500®, announced today that the 2020 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, will be located at the Pavilion at Pan Am for the second year. Registration for the three race series, which consists of events in February, March and April, is officially at IndyMini.com/Milers. Participants can register at the lowest rate through October 31st, paying just $55 to take part in all 3 events. Pricing will increase starting November 6th.

Past participants of the 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, will be familiar with the Pavilion at Pan Am, as it served as the location for last year’s series as well as the 3-Miler in 2018. Pre-race festivities, including packet pickup, gear check and sponsor activation, is available to participants inside the Pavilion. The large outdoor area is perfect for warming up before the race, and is also where post-race runner’s services is located.

In addition to the start and finish line being at the Pavilion of Pan Am, the 2020 Miler Series will feature new courses that take runners and walkers to different neighborhoods around downtown Indianapolis.

“We’re excited to host the 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, at the Pavilion at Pan Am for the second consecutive year. The central location will continue to encourage participation from across the state, helping us grow the Miler Series even more,” said Bob Bryant, president and CEO, 500 Festival. “This series is a great opportunity to train for upcoming races, like the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, or just introduce runners and walkers to timed events that challenge and inspire participants.”

The 500 Festival Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy, consists of three running / walking events at three unique distances, a 3-Miler, 6-Miler and 10-Miler. The 2020 Miler Series will kick off on Saturday, February 9 with the 3-Miler. The timing of the races coincide with a typical 12-week training program for a spring distance race, such as the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. The Miler Series is the perfect opportunity to help you gauge your training progression, practice your race day strategy (hydration, pacing, fueling), meet a running partner, have fun and earn some swag! Those who register for all three events within the Miler Series – which includes the 3-Miler, 6-Miler, and 10-Miler – will earn the title of Podium Finisher and receive a gender specific technical t-shirt and medal.

There is also an opportunity to participate from out of town, by registering for the 2020 Virtual Miler Series. Registration for the Virtual Miler Series is $40 and participants will receive a bib, a gender specific technical t-shirt, and a finisher medal. Virtual Miler Series participants complete the corresponding distance on each race day, from the location of their choice. Participants then submit their race time and photos upon completing the designated distance.
