2023 Kickoff to May Coloring Contest Rules

  1. The contest is open to children ages 12 and under as of May 3, 2023. Void where prohibited. 
  2. No purchase necessary to participate or win. 
  3. Only Indiana residents may win. 
  4. Some entries will be on public display (without contact information). 
  5. Contest begins March 8, 2023 at 12:01 am ET and ends April 8, 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon) ET. 
  6. Limit one (1) entry per coloring sheet design per child.  
  7. To enter, print out the coloring sheet that is located at 500festival.com/color. Entries can be submitted at any STAR Branch (locations and hours) or mailed to: 
    • Attn: Kickoff Coloring Contest, 46 Monument Cir, Indianapolis, IN 46204
  8. Entries must be received by Friday, April 8, 2023 at 12:00 pm (noon) ET. Mailed entries must be receivedby this date/time
  9. Mailed entries must include the colored picture and completed entry form. Entries submitted via the 500 Festival’s website or emailed must include: child’s name, age, parent/guardian’s name, address, phone number and email. Any entries missing the above requirements will be disqualified.
  10. Contact and address information collected will be used for the purposes of notifying contest winners and for relevant 500 Festival Kickoff to May Coloring Contest information and contest updates. Email addresses will not be shared beyond the 500 Festival and STAR Bank. Email addresses will not be sold to additional parties or partners. 
  11. All entries must be original and entirely created by the entrant. 
  12. There are no restrictions on what an entrant can use to color the image. 
  13. 500 Festival and STAR Bank employees and their family members are not eligible. 
  14. Two (2) grand prize winners will be selected. 
  15. Grand Prize: One (1) five hundred dollar (US currency) cash prize per coloring sheet design. Total of two prizes given. Value of all prizes is $1,000. Prizes courtesy of STAR Bank. Free 1-year membership to the INDYCAR Nation Rookie Program courtesy of INDYCAR.
  16. Grand prize winners will be notified by the email or phone number submitted with their entry. Grand prize winners may be presented with their prize award at the Kickoff to May event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2023. If winner is unable to attend the event, an alternate prize delivery option will be mutually agreed upon by all parties. 
  17. Grand prize winners do not need to be present at Kickoff to May in order to win. 
  18. The 500 Festival or STAR Bank have no liability for a winner’s failure to provide correct contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 15 days from the time of award notification, or fails to timely return any necessary declarations, releases, or additional information, prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. 
    • Winning this contest requires complying with any and all federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER WILL RESULT (AT SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION) IN SUCH WINNER’S DISQUALIFICATION AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. 
  19. All entries become the property of the 500 Festival and STAR Bank and may be used or reproduced in any manner and for any purpose by the 500 Festival and STAR Bank without additional consent or compensation, and will not be acknowledged or returned. 
  20. Entries will be judged at contest end. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity. 
  21. Decisions are at the discretion of the 500 Festival and are subject to change at any time.
  22. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. 
  23. For a complete list of winners, write to the 500 Festival at Attn: Kickoff to May Coloring Contest, 21 Virginia Ave., Suite 500, Indianapolis, IN 46204, and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. 
  24. By participating, Contest entrants: (1) represent that they have complied with these Official Contest Rules; (2) have received parental consent and grant the 500 Festival and STAR Bank the right to use entrant’s name, age, city, state, and likeness; (3) release the 500 Festival and STAR Bank from any and all liability in connection with this Contest; and (4) agree to execute an affidavit of eligibility/prize acceptance form and publicity release if requested to do so, all without further compensation. 
  25. The 500 Festival is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected entries, or incomplete/incorrect entries. 
  26. The 500 Festival reserves the right to disqualify anyone who attempts to tamper or otherwise interfere with the proper functioning of the entry process or voting process. 
  27. This contest is governed by the laws of Indiana, without respect to conflict of law doctrines.  As a condition of participating in this contest, the participant agrees that any and all disputes which cannot be resolved between the parties, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court located in Indiana having jurisdiction. Further, in any such dispute, under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e. costs associated with entering this contest), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
