The 500 Festival is a not-for-profit organization supported by corporate sponsorship, event registrations, program participation, and membership fees. The organization produces over 30 events and programs each year, reaching a wide range of individuals. SUPPORT THE 500 FESTIVAL
The 500 Festival is a not-for-profit organization supported by corporate sponsorship, event registrations, program participation, and membership fees. Each year, thousands of Hoosiers and visitors participate in 500 Festival activities throughout May. Whether it’s athletes participating in the Mini-Marathon or 5K, fourth-grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying Indiana’s largest festival for kids, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation’s premier parades, they were there celebrating the legacy and traditions with us!
The 500 Festival produces about 50 events and programs annually. Our corporate sponsors receive numerous benefits through these programs and events, including a VIP connection with the 500 Festival and its members, visibility at events, reach through our registrants and ticket holders, ongoing information, and a true partnership.

SHOW YOUR HOOSIER PRIDE
Show your Hoosier pride for the magical month of May and help support the 500 Festival’s life-enriching events and programs! Available to Indiana motorists, the specialty license plate bears the 500 Festival’s iconic logo, which has come to represent the exciting, impactful traditions in Indiana during the month of May.
Our wide variety of programs and events – most of which are free and produced largely by volunteers – impact more than half a million people every year and enhance the image of Indiana by showcasing the state’s cultural, educational and social benefits to the world.
The 500 Festival will receive a $25 donation for every 500 Festival specialty plate that is purchased. The funds generated through license plate sales will go towards our youth and education initiatives.
PURCHASE YOUR PLATE
To purchase your 500 Festival license plate, visit myBMV.com or ask for it at any license branch or BMV certified partner location. The cost for the specialty license plate is $40 and is in addition to the normal fees and taxes paid with the registration.
The 500 Festival’s specialty plate is available for passenger vehicles, trucks up to 11,000 lb., motorcycles, and recreational vehicles.
