Our mission to enrich lives and positively impact our community is wholly inclusive and accessible to everyone. The 500 Festival delivers community spirit, volunteerism, participation, inclusion, entertainment, social connecting, business networking, free programming, and even health initiatives.

Whether attending the 500 Festival Parade, joining us for Kids’ Day, participating in the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon, or serving as a volunteer, we welcome anyone and everyone to participate from across the nation!

Our influence is not limited to Indianapolis — we are constantly striving to strengthen our impact and expand our reach! Since 1957, we have produced recurring events and programs in Indianapolis, bringing together over 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors from around the globe.

• Since its inception, the 500 Festival Education Program has reached more than 422,000 fourth-grade students in more than 17,000 classrooms throughout the state of Indiana.
• In 2024, the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon brought together participants from all 50 states, 13 countries, and 5 continents!
• Each year, our KidsFit Program encourages thousands of students across Indiana to get active and teaches them how to pursue healthy lifestyles.
