INDIANAPOLIS (August 27, 2025) – The 500 Festival is accepting applications for its 2026 internship program, giving college students the chance to help, plan, and execute more than 30 community events and programs that engage more than 500,000 people annually. These full-time paid internships offer college credit and will be filled on a rolling basis. 

Internships run January through the first week of June, and are available in event operations, marketing and communications, graphic design, customer service and ticketing, and strategic partnerships. 

Interns will gain hands-on experience, and an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Month of May in Indianapolis. Signature events include the Miler Series, presented by OrthoIndy; the IU Health 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K; the 500 Festival Parade; Breakfast at the Brickyard, presented by Midwestern Engineers, Inc.; and more. Participants will also build leadership skills, connect with community partners, and contribute to events that make a lasting impact across Indiana.
