As we all know, the world is currently facing a unique and challenging time. However, it is more important than ever to band together and support our community, country, and world. Committed to cultivating the next generation of leader’s, the 500 Festival Princess Program is dedicated to leadership and professional development. A staple of this program is its commitment to community outreach and service.

“I am most looking forward to all the opportunities I am offered to make an impact on the Hoosier community, create connections with Indianapolis leaders, and share my love for service with 32 other amazing, like-minded women,” said 500 Festival Princess Kirsten Comment.

In the months leading up to May, the 500 Festival Princesses are often involved in statewide outreach programs including visits to hospitals, schools, and various youth programs. They also volunteer at 500 Festival events throughout the month of May. However, due to the current COVID-19 outbreak and mandated cancellations of events larger than 10 people, these outreach opportunities and certain 500 Festival volunteer opportunities will not be available to these young leaders.

“The 500 Festival Princess Program provides endless opportunities to pursue scholarship, leadership, and volunteerism,” added 500 Festival Princess Madilyn Eberle. “I am most excited to participate in outreach initiatives to give back to the entire state of Indiana alongside 32 exceptional and driven young women. It is empowering and humbling to be able to serve others at such a large capacity!”

Though these circumstances may prohibit typical outreach and service opportunities, the 33 women of the 2020 500 Festival Princess Program are still committed to supporting and giving back to communities across the state of Indiana. The 500 Festival Princesses are eager to serve in any way possible, including virtual opportunities and options that don’t involve large crowds.
