2017 500 Festival Princess Annie Cole shares her favorite moment interacting with youth last spring.
Throughout my time as a Princess, I had countless moments interacting with Indiana’s young people, but one particular moment stood out to me. I asked a first grade class what it meant to be a Princess. Of course, you get answers about the princes, balls, and pretty dresses, but the quietest little girl in the back was patiently raising her hand. When I called on her, she said that “being a Princess means you get to help others.” Among all of the glamorous moments of being a 500 Festival Princess, my fondest memories were those times when I got to serve others.
Annie Cole is an aspiring teacher with a passion for youth and serving others. She was able to do just that in 2017.
