Our new virtual challenges are even better with friends and family! Stay motivated by joining or creating a Challenge team. Wondering how to create or join a Challenge team? Check out the instructions below!

How to create a Challenge Team:

1. On the first page of registration, select "Yes" when asked if you would like to join or create a Challenge Team

2. Click "Create a New Challenge Team"

3. Select what category your team falls into:

• Corporate Team - Get your company involved! Make one large company team, or smaller teams* for a fun internal competition!
• Running/Walking Club - Are you part of a running or walking club? Invite them to join in on the challenge!
• College or University - Create a large team for your college or university, or a small team* for your campus club or organization
• Friends and Family - Make a team for your friends and family to see how you stack up against one another!*
• General group/club - Don't fall into any of the above? Add your team to this category!

4. Create your team name

5. Set a password - If you wish to keep the group private, then you will need to include a password. Then, share the password with whomever you would like to join your team

6. Spread the word- Share your team name with friends, family, or anyone else who would like to join!

How to Join a Challenge Team:

1. On the first page of registration, select "Yes" when asked if you would like to join or create a Challenge Team

2. Click "Join and Existing Challenge Team"

3. Search for the team from the drop down, or enter the team name in the box

4. If prompted, enter the team password

Team Captains

The participant who creates the team will be considered the Team Captain, and has the ability to customize the team with a logo or picture, invite participants to join the team, reset the password, and add other team captains. You may also join a team after registering individually.

*We recommend setting a password for Friends and Family Teams, or any Challenge Team where you wish to limit who has access to it.

**The 500 Festival reserves the right to change the name of or delete a Challenge Team if we deem it inappropriate or offensive.
