The 500 Festival celebrated the end of its 50th Anniversary season with a record number of awards from the International Festival & Events Association (IFEA). Each year, the IFEA recognizes outstanding examples of quality and creativity in the promotional programs and materials produced by its 2,400 member festivals and events around the world. More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year from the world’s top festivals and events. The 500 Festival received the following honors:
Gold Pinnacle Awards:
- Best Volunteer Program
- Best Promotional Brochure: 2007 500 Festival 50th Anniversary Legacy Art Project (Designed in cooperation with Williams Randall Marketing Communications)
- Best Sponsor: IPL; title sponsor of the 2007 500 Festival Parade
- Best Hat: 500 Festival and Indianapolis 500® Spirit and Speed hat (In cooperation with MainGate)
Silver Pinnacle Awards:
- Best Organizational Website: www.500festival.com
- Best Event Photograph: Photograph taken at the 2007 Memorial Service, presented by Rolls-Royce (Banayote Photography)
- Best Education Program: 500 Festival and Indianapolis 500® Education Program
Bronze Pinnacle Awards:
- Best Full Length National TV Program: 2007 IPL 500 Festival Parade on ESPN2 (Produced in cooperation with IMS Productions)
- Most Creative/Effective News Stunt: May 1 kick-off on Monument Circle
- Best Newspaper Insert/Supplement: 500 Festival Month of May Guide (In cooperation with the Indianapolis Star)
- Best Event Invitation: Regions Bank 500 Festival Snakepit Ball, presented by Cindy and Paul Skjodt (Designed in cooperation with Williams Randall Marketing Communications)
